About the Cell

The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell at E.G.S. Pillay Engineering College promotes the special interests of students in the reserved category and provides special inputs in areas where students experience difficulty. The Cell conducts remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development, writing assignments, and making presentations, and organizes interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to address their personal, social, and academic problems.

Objectives

• To bring students belonging to SC/ST communities at par with the mainstream student body.
• To create a platform where students can raise academic and non-academic concerns.
• To monitor the implementation of reservation policies in the institution.
• To conduct remedial coaching on life skills, personality development, assignment writing, and presentations.
• To organize interactive sessions and informal meetings to address personal, social, and academic issues.
• To create awareness about various Government and Non-Government scholarship schemes.
• To counsel and motivate students to overcome inferiority complex and improve personal grooming and peer interaction.
